[NBA] Humphries/Kim- She Had to buy her own ring?
New York, May 28 (ANI): Rumours are rife that socialite Kim Kardashian might have paid for the 20.5-carat engagement ring her fiance Kris Humphries gave her.
The rumours started after some began to wonder how Humphries, 26, a New Jersey Nets player with a yearly salary of just 3.2 million dollars, could afford a 20.5-carat ring worth a reported 2 million dollars, the New York Daily News reported.
Other outlets reported that Kardashian actually bought the jewel for herself years ago, and MediaTakeOut.com dug up an old post of its own from 2008, featuring the reality star wearing a giant diamond ring on her right hand.
A side-by-side comparison of the ring and the one Kardashian recently sported in People magazine, which announced her engagement to Humphries, shows an uncanny resemblance between the two sparklers.
Both appear to feature an emerald-cut centre stone with trapezoid-cut stones on each side, set in what appears to be a platinum band.

BERNARD HOPKINS BECOMES OLDEST CHAMP
Thunder vet: WESTBROOK THINKS HE BETTER THAN DURANT
09:39 AM ET 05.22 | TV cameras caught Russell Westbrook yelling at Scott Brooks when he was yanked from Game 2, offering incontrovertible proof that he didn't like his coach's decision. What undoubtedly fueled Westbrook's fiery response is a sense of entitlement. As one Thunder veteran said, privately, "He thinks he's better than Kevin Durant."

WHY REDSOX DON'T REGRET TRADING RAMIREZ!
10:19 AM ET 05.22 | As good as Hanley Ramirez is, the Red Sox should never regret trading him to the Marlins in the deal that brought Josh Beckett and Mike Lowell to Boston. Ramirez became a far better hitter than the Sox thought he'd be, much as Jeff Bagwell did when he went to Houston. But Ramirez probably wouldn't have fit in with the Red Sox because he has been a moody player, prone to moping when things aren't going well. The late Felix Maldonado, a wonderful man who took care of so many Latin players for the Red Sox, was like a father figure to Ramirez. While Maldonado was blown away with Ramirez's talent, he always questioned his desire.

Gwyneth Paltrow Tells Jay-Z Why She Knows Every Word from N.W.A’s “F*** Tha Police”...interesting???
Shawn Carter: Personally I was very surprised at your extensive knowledge of hip-hop songs. Particularly how you can sing ’90s hip-hip songs word for word. I can’t even do that! How does a girl from Spence discover hip-hop?
Gwyneth Paltrow: I first was exposed to hip-hop when I was about 16 (1988) by some boys who went to collegiate. The Beastie Boys were sort of the way in for us preppie kids. We were into Public Enemy, Run-DMC and LL Cool J. But then I went to LA the summer between my junior and senior year of high school and I discovered N.W.A which became my obsession. I was fascinated by lyrics as rythym [sic] and how Dre had a such different cadence and perspective from say, Eazy-E, who I thought was one of the most ironic and brilliant voices hip-hop has ever had. It was an accident that I learned every word of Straight Outta Compton and to love something that a.) I had no real understanding of in terms of the culture that it was emanating from and b.) to love something that my parents literally could not grasp. But I was hooked. I can’t remember what I ate for dinner last night but I could sing to you every single word of N.W.A’s “Fuck Tha Police” or [Rob Base & DJ E-Z Rock's] “It Takes Two.” Go figure.

[NBA]_Jeff Teague Accused Of Rape
A former Wake Forest student will appear on NBCs Today Show on Thursday morning to accuse NBA star Jeff Teague and his former Demon Deacon Basketball teammate of raping her the night before the team's first-round NCAA tournament game in 2009.
The victim filed a complaint at the time with the Miami police department alleging that former Wake Forest guard Gary Clark sexually assaulted her in a hotel bathroom while teammate Jeff Teague stood watch outside. Miami police investigated the woman's claims but did not file charges because of insufficient evidence.
Wake Forest president Nathan Hatch issued a statement Tuesday addressing the accusations.
"The University takes these issues seriously, has a well-established Code of Conduct and has procedures for hearing alleged violations of that Code of Conduct," Hatch said. "In addition, Wake Forest offers significant resources to support our students in times of need."
The day after the alleged incident the Demon Deacons were shocked in a first round upset to 13th seed Cleveland State. That loss cut short a great season that year for Wake Forest. Jeff Teague went on to be drafted in the first round later that summer. He is currently in his second year with the Atlanta Hawks where his team just recently became eliminated in the NBA playoffs. Clark finished his Demon Deacon Basketball career starting twenty-six games this past season and graduated this spring.

Jadakiss Says 'I'm Top 5' Among Hip-Hop's Dead Or Alive
Jadakiss' fans have been patiently waiting on new music from the Yonkers native -- it's been two years since he released 'The Last Kiss' LP -- and now he's ready to say thank you for the support they've showed him over the years.
On May 24, Jadakiss will put out his eighth mixtape, 'I Love You (A Dedication to My Fans),' in honor of those loyal followers who have stood by his side over the past decade. "Why sugarcoat it?" he tells the BoomBox, in reference to the mixtape's sentimental title. "It's just how I was feeling."
'I Love You,' which Jada describes as a more heartfelt compilation than his previous, three-part 'The Champ Is Here' series, will include features from Rick Ross, Styles P, Teyana Taylor, and if all goes as planned, almost each track will have an accompanying video. First up will be the visuals for 'Hold Me Down,' which have already been filmed.
The new mixtape will precede Jada's fourth solo album 'Top 5 Dead or Alive,' due out later this year on Island Def Jam. The 35-year-old rapper, who sold over 3 million copies of his 2001 solo debut, 'Kiss Tha Game Goodbye,' and spawned three hit singles with 2009's 'Kiss of [rip],' chose another direct title for his fourth LP. "If you're just focusing on lyrics, I feel that I'm in the Top 5 with anybody," he explains. Besides the title's bold statement -- a topic that has been fiercely debated for years in the hip-hop community -- his number one focus remains on satisfying his loyal fan base. "I just want it to be better than the last album and I want the fans to appreciate it," he says.
After the release of 'I Love You' and 'Top 5 Dead Or Alive,' Jada will begin work on the long- delayed LOX album, which he hopes will be released by early 2012. During a break from the recording process, Kiss speaks on the rappers he puts in his Top 5, who he'll tap for his forthcoming album and what it was like to meet the king and queen of Swaziland.
'I Love You (A Dedication to My Fans)' is a very straightforward mixtape title.
It's been 10, nearly 15 years, that my fans have been supporting me, so I really love them. Whether it's Jadakiss, the LOX or D-Block supporters, I really appreciate them and love them for real. You're spending your money on my music and my concerts and shows, so, I love you, real talk.
Did any particular event inspire the title?
Me and my homies always say, "I love you," to the waiters, flight attendants or anyone that's helping us. And one day, while I was saying it, my friend said, "You should name your new mixtape that." And I thought, you know what? You're right. 'I Love You (A Dedication To The Fans)' and it just took off from there.
How will it compare to 'The Champ Is Here' mixtapes?
If you follow 'The Champ is Here' series, it's always real hard, and this is still hard but it's a got a little bit more of a softer feel. There are more joints for the females, more heartfelt songs, more real-life issues. It's also ride-out music, the songs that you might start bopping to and start thinking about your ex-girlfriend, or one of your loved ones that's no longer here, or one of your close friends that's incarcerated, or somebody in the hospital. That kind of music.
Following the mixtape will be the new album, 'Top 5 Dead or Alive.' Do you consider yourself to be an underrated rapper?
I consider myself to be blessed but a lot of fans and other people think I'm very underrated. They feel I should be on a higher pedestal than some artists who get praised more, because they feel that I'm better than them. But coming from where I'm from, I'm just happy to have a chance to take care of my family and receive the financial blessings from the work I put in. People always complain but it can always be worse. So why complain?
If I never sold 10 million records, or if you take away all the accolades and money and you're just focusing on lyrics, I feel that I'm in the Top 5 with anybody. You can go get anybody in the world, strip us of everything, put us in the studio with a track, and I'm Top 5. I don't care who you bring, I'mma be able to come out standing. That's how I feel about that.
If you're one of five, who else is included in the 'Top 5 Dead or Alive'?
It's so hard because this whole thing is blown out of proportion with the number system -- the Top 10, the Top 5 and all of that. Everybody goes off different things: record sales, deals, this and that, but if you just strip all of that and put it to lyrics, I'm there. But I would always say Jay-Z, Nas, Biggie, Tupac and not even including myself I'll put Eminem and Styles P in there. That's my personal list.
What features and production have you lined up for the new album?
I didn't really get into the big name producers or artists on this album. Most of my features will probably be favors from somebody that I did things for previously. Styles and Sheek [Louch] are going to be on there, and there will be some of the new artists I'm signing, trying to break in and working with. Along with that, maybe a Drake, Weezy or Jay-Z feature -- one or two good ones -- and that's about it. I ain't going too crazy with it.
Does the title 'Top 5 Dead or Alive' indicate that this album is set to be a classic?
Everybody tries to make a classic, but you've just got to make something that's a thirst quencher at the moment when it comes out. People will always remember it like, "I don't know what was happening then, but I remember that 'Top 5 Dead Or Alive' came out and it came out at the right time." All I try to do is fill the void from the last time I came out with some good product that was appreciated.
Will it be a more emotional record like 'I Love You?'
'Top 5 Dead Or Alive' is very heartfelt, with a lot of pain on it. I'm just painting everything around the pain, so there will still be party joints and story joints. It's just classic Jada, with a 2012 twist. I've already shot the video for 'Hold Me Down,' and then I'm going to shoot the rest as viral videos. I'm trying to shoot videos for all of 'I love You.'
The new LOX album has been constantly delayed because of label troubles. Has there been any progress recently?
I think we finally got untangled so hopefully in the near future, sometime around the fourth quarter of 2011, or the first quarter of 2012, we should be coming your way. We're still early in the process now, because we just got the politics out of the way entirely. Now we're able to move on with the creative aspect and get to the next step.
You recently did a benefit concert in Swaziland. Are you enjoying the opportunity to perform internationally?
Yeah, Swaziland is actually a kingdom -- it's the last kingdom in Africa, so that was an experience of a lifetime. I met the king, the prince, the queen, and it was really like 'Coming to America' in real life. I'm supposed to go back to Johannesburg in June and I just got a couple more offers that I'm trying to set up.

A source close to Nicki Minaj has confirmed to XXLMag.com exclusively that the femcee has parted ways with Diddy and James Cruz, her managers since she left Debra Antney’s firm, and is now being managed by Gee Roberson and Kyambo “Hip Hop” Joshua over at Hip-Hop Since 1978. HHS1978 also has Kanye West, Lil Wayne, Drake, Young Jeezy and Just Blaze on its roster.
Although the reason for her departure isn’t clear, another source tells XXL that Minaj was under the impression that Diddy would be more hands-on with her career, but was disappointed when she realized it wasn’t the case.
Apparently, according to the source, there are no hard feelings between Nicki Minaj, Diddy and Cruz.

Doc Rivers admitted the Kendrick Perkins trade was probably ill-timed.
Celtics coach Doc Rivers said Monday that the biggest fallout from the highly criticized mid-February trade that sent Kendrick Perkins to the Oklahoma City Thunder was the sudden lack of continuity between the new players and, that if he could go back, he would have waited until the end of the season to make the trade instead.
"I would wait until after the year was over. I'll put it that way," Rivers told Boston sports radio WEEI (850 AM). "I do think Jeff Green has a chance to be a starter for us in the future and a hell of a basketball player, and [Nenad] Krstic can help, but making that trade at the time we made that trade, that made it very tough for us. And not only that, we added other pieces as well that we tried to fit in, so it was just a lot of moving parts to a team that the advantage that we had was that we had continuity, everybody else was new. Chicago was new and the Heat were new. They couldn't fall back on what we could fall back on with our starting five, and once we made that trade, we took that advantage away."
In the February deal, Boston obtained Green, Krstic, and a future first-round pick in exchange for Perkins and Nate Robinson.
While there was speculation that removing Perkins hindered the team's chemistry, Rivers suggested it was the on-the-court familiarity that hurt the Celtics the most. While the successful starting lineup of Rajon Rondo, Ray Allen, Paul Pierce, Kevin Garnett, and Perkins had been intact for the majority of the last four seasons, Perkins' departure had a trickle-down effect, eventually affecting the club's offense more than Rivers and Celtics president of basketball operations Danny Ainge originally anticipated.
"Well it was more not that the trust went away, the know-how went away, the continuity went away," said Rivers. "That's what the trade affected more than anything. Obviously [Kendrick Perkins] was great to our team and all of that, but it was more that you had new guys playing different positions and you had a floor guy, who could literally reach back into a playbook and throw out something that was three or four years old and they all knew it, when Perk was there. When you lose Perk, you take that one guy out of that starting lineup. Now there's the fifth guy who doesn't know your offense three years ago. He only knows what he knows since he's been there, and that limited our group. With Rondo, because the way teams guard him, you need a massive playbook and that took more away from it than we thought."
Rivers later suggested that the instant chemistry that developed between Shaquille O'Neal and the Celtics' other four usual starters gave the team the confidence it needed to move Perkins, and it did so under the[..]umption that O'Neal's right Achilles/calf injury would heal in a matter of weeks, as opposed to lingering for months and eventually allowing O'Neal to play just 12 minutes in the postseason.
"We were [19-3] when [Shaq] played 20-plus minutes, so that gave us the confidence to do it," said Rivers. "When we made the trade, Shaq's injury looked minor, it really did. Everyone, from the doctors to the trainers, to Shaq -- we thought it was like he'd be out four or five days or a week, or two weeks. We obviously never knew that it would take on the life that it did, and obviously that took away a lot of from us. Not having him for 25 minutes a night at full speed, it hurt more than just him obviously, and our team. I thought it affected Rondo as well, because he wasn't allowed to do some of the things that we could have done with him."
